Christoph Eichhorn- Moderator
Christoph Eichhorn, born in Kassel in 1957, grew up in the world of theatre. His father, Werner Eichhorn, was an actor at the Schauspielhaus Bochum under the legendary Peter Zadek, where Christoph took his first professional steps in 1973. After appearing in ‘The Tenderness of Wolves,’ directed by Ulli Lommel and produced by Fassbinder, he worked in theatre with Werner Schroeter, Rosa von Praunheim and Zadek before achieving prominence as Hans Castorp in Geissendörfer’s ‘The Magic Mountain’ (1982). International film work followed with directors including Krzysztof Zanussi, Masahiro Shinoda and Danny Huston. Eichhorn made his directing debut in 1987 with ‘Beyond Blue’ and, after leaving acting in 2000, established himself as a director of television series. He lives between Berlin, Lisbon and Sri Lanka.

Wieland Speck
Wieland Speck is a Berlin-based filmmaker, curator and cultural figure whose work has been central to queer and LGBT cinema in Europe for decades. As a director and actor, he emerged from Germany’s independent film scene in the late 1970s, gaining recognition with films such as Westler (1985). Beyond his own acting and directing, Speck became internationally influential as a programmer and curator. From 1992 to 2017, he headed the Panorama section of the Berlinale, shaping it into a vital platform for politically engaged and queer filmmaking. He is also the co-founder of the Teddy Awards, the Berlinale’s prestigious prizes for LGBT cinema. Speck has further contributed to Berlin’s cultural life through curatorial work linked to the Berlin Biennale, firmly positioning the city as a global hub for progressive film and art.

Zazie de Paris
Zazie de Paris is a Berlin-based performer, singer and actress known for her distinctive presence within queer and LGBT culture. Emerging from the European underground cabaret and music scene, she became a cult figure through her collaborations with artists such as Rosa von Praunheim, appearing in several of his films as both actor and performer. Zazie de Paris is also recognised for her work in experimental theatre, music and performance art, blending chanson, punk attitude and queer glamour. Closely associated with Berlin’s alternative and avant-garde scenes, she has appeared at major cultural platforms including events connected to the Berlinale and the Teddy Awards, where her work embodies visibility, resistance and artistic freedom. Through acting, live performance and music, Zazie de Paris remains an influential voice in contemporary queer expression.
